If finding space for both a flight of stairs and a stairlift is proving problematic, a FlexStep stairlift could be the answer you are looking for. This clever 5 steps solution gives you both stairs and a stairlift even in the tightest places; if you have room for stairs, there's room for a FlexStep stairlift. A fixed staircase can be built indoors as well as outdoors. The 5-step FlexStep model is intended for travels up to 1110 mm. Travels higher than 9250 mm requires the space saving "2-stop point" feature where the upper step on the FlexStep staircase is lower than the upper threshold and the threshold is actually step no. 6 on the staircase. The 5-step model has a platform length of 1525 mm. A fixed staircase is installed leading up to the front wall and floor and can be supplied with round or square balustrades to harmonize with FlexStep. The ramp folds down for the user to roll onto/off the platform. The ramp is raised and locked before the lift can start to move. Pressure plates under the platform stop the lift operation if an object is detected under the platform. Infra-red safety device between the steps minimizes the risk of crushing. In the event of overload or uneven weight distribution, the platform will stop automatically. Acoustic alarms inform the user of all the lift's movements. There are batteries in the FlexStep that provide power to the system in the event of an outage. Fixed steps are available in step widths of 700 mm, 800 mm, 900 mm or 1,000 mm. With its versatile design and configuration options, it seamlessly integrates into existing spaces.
